About Koham
Koham - Who am I? is a part of 'Bhavanjali' - 2022 in the loving memory of theatre artist K Viswanath, Mysuru, India. Seema Viswanath lovingly offers her work at her father's feet. Last year 'Viswanath Art Grant' was introduced to support upcoming artists/organizations in India. All the proceeds of this event will be supporting artists for the year 2022.
Koham is a project which expounds few concepts from "Garbhopanishad" which was written 4000 years ago. It focuses on as what fetus goes through physically and emotionally inside the womb? How is it formed? Also understanding what is this body and what is Garbha Sanskar? This project started bubbling up when she was pregnant just 6 months ago before delivering a beautiful angel. She couldn't stop herself but conceptualise her reading, understanding and her own experience of 9 months in Koham. She is supported by wonderful artists of North Carolilna on music accompaniment.
Also "Viswanath Art Grant - 2021" was awarded to 'Ranga Yaana Trust', Mysuru who have put their heart and soul in upbrining rural kids in Mysuru, India. They have worked very hard with the governenmt school students of "Gurur" in Mysore Taluk for one long month with theater workshop to produce the drama 'Bettada Ili"( Mountain Mouse). This will be released on the same day to public for free to watch online.
